Hello and welcome.
I'm Mr Pantelis Tsantanis, a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon based at University Hospitals Birmingham. I specialise in treating conditions of the shoulder, elbow, and hand.
Whether you're dealing with shoulder pain, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, or recovering from an injury or fracture, my goal is simple:
to help you move better, feel better, and get back to doing the things you enjoy.
After graduating from medical school in Patras, Greece, I moved to the UK in 2010, where I’ve been privileged to train in some of the country’s top orthopaedic centres. I completed my higher surgical training in the West Midlands, followed by an advanced Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham – a nationally recognised unit for complex upper limb surgery.
I offer expert care for a wide range of upper limb conditions, including:
I believe in clear communication, evidence-based care, and always exploring non-surgical options first where appropriate.
I’m passionate about keeping up with the latest surgical techniques and treatment methods. I regularly attend specialist courses and conferences and am involved in:
I also hold postgraduate qualifications in Trauma & Orthopaedics and Medical Education, and have presented my research work internationally as an invited speaker.
When I’m not in the clinic or operating theatre, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, and exploring new music. I’m particularly passionate about basketball and football, and I’m proud to support local teams as the Club Doctor for COB Rockets Basketball Club and Match Doctor for Rugby League.
In 2023, I was honoured to receive the Good Citizen’s Award from the West Midlands Police for services to the community.
I understand that facing an orthopaedic issue can be stressful or confusing. Whether you’re exploring treatment for the first time or looking for a second opinion, I’m here to guide you through your options with honesty, clarity, and compassion.
Feel free to browse my site, explore conditions I treat, and reach out if you have any questions or wish to book a consultation.
